Description:

The Uma-ichi festival has its origins in one of the region’s largest horse markets operated in the local area until the late 18th century. The present festival is now made up of a parade of Nebuta-style horses, a singing competition, and a fire festival.

The fire festival is held at the end of the parade route and changes from year to year, so ask around to determine this year’s location.

Getting There From Goshogawara City, head West on Route 101 towards Ajigasawa. Several lights after Kashiwa Jusco turn right on Route 241 at the light with Asahi Dome. At the second light, turn left onto Route 245. Proceed through the lights in downtown Kizukuri and you should see festival preparation and parking options.
