Tsugaru City Sightseeing Guide

Created by a regional merger in 2005, Tsugaru City is a young city that is still developing a sense of self. Each area of the city is unique, with expansive apple orchards to the south, endless rice fields throughout the center, and long, uninterrupted beaches along the west coast.

The city has great cultural heritage in the Tsugaru City Nebuta Festival, the Uma-ichi Festival, the many archaeological findings at the Kamagaoka Archaeological site, and the beauty of the Takayama Inari Shrine. The city also has a lively exchange program with its sister city, Bath, Maine, highlighted by the annual Cheseborough Cup held in Shariki.
