Description:
In addition to a restaurant, vegetable stand, and souvenir shop, this roadside station also has a great outdoor recreation area with an observation tower, a 450-foot-long elevated roller slide, and a giant ground slide. The station is most famous for its shijimi (freshwater clams), which are served in various ways at the station restaurant.
Other Tips:
You can search for your own shijimi in the designated area near the roadside station for 300 Yen. Shijimi season usually starts in late April or early May and runs through October.
